Sergeant Tony’s “COMBAT THE FAT” Weight Loss Challenge!

Memphis is the fattest most out of shape city IN THE WORLD.

What can we do?

Here’s what I’m going to do … and here is how you can help.

We’re going to find 10 people who need to transform their lives!

These won’t be just any people needing to lose a little weight. These will be people who need to really lose some weight and really transform their lives! We need specially selected recruits! We need a special group … a particular group of only 10 people … people who might be your loved ones … members of your own family, a co-worker, or a friend might be one of those 10.

And the reason you’ll want to help is because you also want them to reclaim their lives!

These recruits must be at least 50 pounds over their ideal weight.

In addition to the obvious weight loss benefits that will come for those challenge members, one of those 10 will win $5,000!

One of them will win $5,000!!

ONE OF THEM WILL WIN FIVE THOUSAND DOLLAR$!!!

Details and an application for this exciting new six month program can be found on the USMC Fitness BOOT CAMP website: www.usmcfitnessbootcamp.com

This may be the very program for you … or for that loved one of yours who desperately must lose weight … before it’s too late.

Participation in COMBAT THE FAT is limited to ONLY TEN people. So pass the word! The program officially begins on March 1, 2008! Applications will be taken by email or snail mail until January 25. Interviews will be conducted during the week following with selected recruits announced on February 1.

I’ve got flyers for you. Put them in your company break room, pass them on to your company for their weekly newsletter or HR office.

According to the Surgeon General obesity is the “terrorist within” … it threatens to destroy our society and our way of life. The declining overall health of our country, rising health risks, and skyrocketing health costs can be directly linked to two causes: obesity and smoking. Both of them preventable.

Changing ten people won’t change Memphis, and it won’t change the world, but it will change their world! Won’t it be awesome to be a part of someone’s life changing event?!!

JUMP START YOUR NEW YEAR’S WEIGHT LOSS GOALS

Here’s a tip I like to call “The 15 Minute Break.”

Try this. This is particularly easy if you’re eating at home.

Eat half of what’s on your plate.

My mom, like your mom, probably insisted that you clear your plate. Didn’t she? She probably reminded you of the starving children in India or China or somewhere.

So first of all, make sure that your plate has a reasonable amount of food on it. Don’t pile it on. Just normal portions no larger than the palm of your hand. Eat half of the food on your plate and then walk away, put it away, wrap it up, put it aside, stick it in the refrigerator.

Then fuggettaboutit!

If you’re still hungry 15 minutes later, then finish it up.

If you love breakfast cereal like I do and you often eat 2 and 3 bowls full, do this. Pour the cereal, and put the box away. Pour the milk and put it back in the fridge. Eat ONE bowl and then rinse the bowl out and put it in the dishwasher. Wait 15 minutes. If you’re still hungry repeat the above and put LESS cereal in the bowl or use a smaller bowl.

In most cases, you will discover that you won’t eat the seconds.

The reason this works is the same reason why buffets, all you can eat, and eating FAST leads to being FAT! There’s a lag time between your stomach and your brain. Eating fast, with an unlimited amount to eat, will ALWAYS lead to weight gain. Eating slowly with a 15 minute break between “plate halfs,” will always lead to eating less.

Try this! Let me know how it works for you.
