TURNING WATER INTO WINE … — Important News

Friday, Aug. 3rd 2007 3:07 PM

Most of the time you guys are the best resource for new ideas. Your suggestions have led to some fun events and some cool things that have made Boot Camp a more fulfilling activity and a real community.

It was a Boot Camper who suggested the first anniversary party.
It was a Boot Camper who suggested other classes besides 0530!
It was a Boot Camper who suggested the first rafting trip.
It was a Boot Camper who suggested the first half marathon training session.
It was a Boot Camper who suggested the first triathlon training session.

See what I mean? You guys are like the Brain Trust of Boot Camp!!

The core of what we do in USMC Fitness BOOT CAMP, regarding the exercises themselves, are primarily determined by what the Marine Corps does. Even though I tweak the program here and there, my commitment to the Corps’ approach won’t change. Not only am I a Marine through and through, but the Marine Corps trains Marines for victory and survival in combat, making Marine training second to none.

If it’s good enough for Marines battling terrorists, it’ll more than do the job for us here in Memphis battling the bulge.

My commitment to The Corps won’t change, but your ideas are invaluable to me in formulating new strategies and incorporating those new ideas.

Well, maybe not YOUR ideas, but the ideas of the other people reading this!!

Seriously though, could you help me with a couple of things?

First, I’d like to know if you have any questions for me that you think others like you would want to know the answers to. Please email me your questions, and maybe I’ll feature them in an upcoming email newsletter.”

Second, if you’re a veteran BOOT CAMPER, you’ve heard a LOT of my post-stretching pre-workout speeches. Or as I like to call them, “Story Times with Sergeant Tony.” I’ve covered all kinds of topics from running shoes to glycogen store depletion. Would you email me with the 4 or 5 topics that you think are most helpful? You don’t need to write the whole thing, but just the general theme of the talk.

Thanks ahead of time for your help!
