THE SECRET — WEEKLY NEWSLETTER 7/18/2007
Birds of a feather flock together.
Like attracts like.
What you sow, you reap.
What you put out you get back.
What comes around goes around.
You’ve heard these things before.
A few months ago there was a stir caused by the publication of a book called The Secret. Queen Oprah Winfry put her royal seal upon it, devoting an entire show to it, and the book flew off the shelves. (Whenever Her Royal Highness endorses anything it instantly becomes successful. Without Oprah, Bob Greene would be an unknown personal trainer working with pampered Chicago housewives. How ’bout someone inviting Oprah to visit USMC Fitness BOOT CAMP?! I promise not to move to Chicago when she tries to lure me away!)
The Secret, as it turns out, is sort of a reapplication of a teaching found in Christ’s Sermon on the Mount, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.”
It’s not far from “what you reap, you sow.”
In fact, the principle is one of those teachings theologians call common grace or common wisdom. A tenet that you’ll find across the ages and across religious dogmas.
The Secret says that finding success is a matter of focusing your time, energy, and efforts on what you want. The Law of Attraction says that you will attract to yourself what you manifest in your self.
Now, without any psycho-babble, let me tell you how your Drill Instructor translates it all: Winners attract winners, positive people attract positive people; successful people do what successful people do, positive people do what positive people do.
Here’s the secret: IT’S NOT A SECRET!
Toss the losers and the “Negative Nellies” and surround yourself with winners and positive people!

PAYING THE PIED PIPER — UPDATE!!
Back in the day you could only pay for Boot Camp with cash or check. You still can!! I enjoy taking your “love notes” and telling you thank you, face to face.
NOW YOU CAN ALSO PAY ONLINE!
Just go to the website (www.usmcfitnessbootcamp.com) and click on the banner at the top right of the homepage. You can pay by credit card, PayPal account, or bank transfer. It’s simple and easier than mountain climbers!
By the way, if you pay with cash, may I ask you to put said cash in an envelope with your name and the months that you’re paying for on the outside of the envelope.
If you pay by check, you’re also asked to write on the check, in the memo section, the months you’re paying for. This way both of us know what’s what.
Thanks everyone!
